Pre-painted steel coatings provide an extensive range of colours and surface finishes, where choice and aesthetic appeal can be matched to environmental and performance requirements. To produce high quality pre-coated sheeting a system of multi layer coatings is applied to zinc coated high tensile steel strip and oven cured to ensure optimum adhesion. This gives a sheet with excellent corrosion resistance and climatic protection together with high strength.
Flashings are a necessary part of any profiled clad building and with the range and colours that are available can enhance the aesthetics of any structure.
Firestone RubberCover EPDM membranes offer unmatched resistance to ozone, UV radiation and high or low temperatures. They have a life expectancy of up to 50 years.
Seamless sheets in 1 piece
Firestone RubberCover EPDM membranes are available in large, seamless sheets up to 6.10 m in width. [MS-c1] Most small residential roofs can therefore be covered with one single sheet without any field seaming.
Firestone RubberCover EPDM membranes require no flame as the membrane is always fully adhered to the substrate using a cold applied adhesive. It makes the EPDM roofing installation process much safer than convention felt roofs
Very low life-cycle cost
What’s more: once installed, Firestone RubberCover EPDM membranes require no or only little maintenance! Combined with the membrane’s inherent durability and competitive installed cost this results in a very low lifecycle cost.
High flexibility and elongation
Firestone RubberCover EPDM membranes remain highly flexible even at low temperatures, enabling year round installation. The membrane can also elongate over 300% to accommodate building movements.
Recuperation of rainwater
Physical tests carried out at Eurofins, an accredited laboratory recognized for environmental analyses, have shown that Firestone RubberCover EPDM membrane and its assembly system allow the recovery of rainwater. It is therefore possible to recycle the collected water for use as domestic water.
The composition of Firestone RubberCover EPDM membrane is such that no fire retardant product has to be added for different roofing assemblies to obtain a BROOF (t1), BROOF (t3) or BROOF (t4) classification.
Firestone RubberCover EPDM membrane is an inert material with limited environmental impact both during manufacture and installation and high durability compared to other roofing membranes. EPDM can also provide an excellent base material for Green roof systems. Waterproofing the roof deck and protecting it from the increased water retention of the layers of planting medium. Felt roofing is unsuitable for green roofing as it does not carry the same waterproofing properties as a seamless membrane. Green roofing methods are increasing in popularity across the uk in an attempt to lower our carbon foot print, whilst enhancing the aesthetics of any flat roof area.
